How to convert Markdown to HTML
- Paste or write Markdown in the editor. The HTML view is selected on this page, so you see the generated markup straight away.
- Switch to Preview at any time to see how it renders.
- Press Copy HTML to copy just the body markup for a CMS, newsletter tool or template, or Download .html for a complete, lightly styled page with a title taken from your first heading.
Clean output
The converter uses the marked parser with GitHub-Flavoured Markdown, so tables, task lists, strikethrough, fenced code blocks and autolinks all convert. Headings become <h1> to <h6>, lists become <ul> and <ol>, and code blocks keep their language as a class="language-js" attribute so syntax highlighters such as Prism or highlight.js can pick them up.
Every result is passed through DOMPurify, which removes scripts, event-handler attributes and other unsafe markup. That makes it safe to convert Markdown you received from someone else before pasting the HTML into your site.
Typical uses are turning README files into web pages, writing blog posts in Markdown for a CMS that only accepts HTML, and preparing documentation. Everything happens in your browser.
FAQ
Does the HTML include styles?
Copy HTML gives plain semantic markup with no styles, ready for your own CSS. The downloaded page adds a small readable stylesheet.
Are scripts in my Markdown kept?
No. Script tags and inline event handlers are stripped by DOMPurify for safety. Safe HTML such as details, kbd and sup is kept.
Can I convert HTML back to Markdown?
Yes, use the HTML to Markdown converter on this site.
